🗞️ PROGRAMME AT A GLANCE
GAS ANALYSIS 2026 built on the success of previous editions with a 3-day programme featuring parallel sessions addressing today’s and tomorrow’s major global challenges in the field of gas analysis and its related topics.
This new edition offered a great opportunity to explore the latest advances in gas analysis, both from a market and research perspective.
Thanks to a remarkable number of high-quality contributions, both the Scientific and Organising Committees crafted a comprehensive and forward-looking programme.
🧩 6 SESSION THEMES
GAS Analysis 2026 offered 3 full days of lectures, including 2 days with parallel sessions. Each lecture lasted 15 minutes, followed by 5 minutes of Questions/Answers.
For this edition, six main session themes were distinguished:
- S1 - Advances in gas metrology
- S2 - Hydrogen energy carrier
- S3 - Climate and air quality
- S4 - Chemometrics and digital tools
- S5 - Industrial innovation
- S6 - Alternative fuels and decarbonisation



📌 POSTER SESSION
Posters were displayed throughout the event in the GAS Analysis Hub, the central location of the symposium.
In 2026, the dedicated poster session was introduced in the morning, from 11:20 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 28th.
During this session, authors presented their posters, answered questions and discussed their research in greater detail. Prior to the poster session, authors were encouraged to pitch their poster in the Gas Analysis Hub to attract more experts and maximise engagement.
🛋️ ROUND TABLE
For its 2026 edition, the Gas Analysis Symposium came back with a novelty in its programme: a Round Table entitled, “The Future of Gas Analysis: Trends, Technologies and Transformations”. This session explored upcoming challenges and emerging opportunities in gas analysis. Leading experts in climate, energy, environment, circularity, healthcare and technological innovation offered their perspectives, guided by the event’s co-chair, Annarita Badan (VSL).
📘 SHORT COURSE
Presented by Adriaan Van der Veen (VSL), this popular short course revisited the evaluation of measurement uncertainty in dynamic and static gas mixture preparation, in line with ISO/IEC 17025. It also covered how to assess stability and homogeneity and apply the results across multiple mixtures.
