G.A.S. is an instrument manufacturing high-tech company founded in 1997 coupling gas chromatography to ion mobility (GC-IMS) to measure traces of volatile organic compounds (VOC) in air, human breath and the headspace of liquid and solids.
G.A.S. comprises of an interdisciplinary team that develops, manufactures and adapts its GC-IMS platform according to the analytical questions of its customers. These tailor-made solutions address different business fields in the food quality control, environmental and human breath analysis.
- Gas chromatography (GC) coupled to ion mobility spectrometry (IMS) – Complex analyte mixtures like for example food, flavours, natural gas and environmental applications often demand a second and independent separation step in order to separately analyse the multiplicity of compounds at lowest (ppb) concentration levels.
- IMS working principle – Ion mobility spectrometry (IMS) is an analytical technology to separately detect gaseous compounds in a mixture of analytes. The separation is based on the specific drift times, that ionized compounds need to pass a fixed distance (drift tube) in a defined electric field.
- GC-IMS-SILOX – The GC-IMS-SILOX is a stand-alone device to precisely quantify concentrations of the individual linear L2, L3, L4 and L5 same as the cyclic D3, D4, D5 and D6 siloxanes in landfill, sewage and biogas.
- GC-IMS-ODOR – The GC-IMS-ODOR is a stand-alone instrument, which has been developed to precisely quantify the concentration of Gasodor®-S-Free®, THT or TBM in natural gas.
